Ringo passed away on October 1st. Even though that was over two weeks ago, it still feels like it was yesterday. It has been incredibly difficult trying to adjust to life without my little bunny, but I’ve been able to find happiness from reflecting on his life and the time I had with him.
I wanted to create a gallery of Ringo through the years to show what it looks like to grow old as a bunny.
This was what Ringo looked like around 12 weeks old after we first brought him home
Ringo around 4-5 years- he used to jump around outside with his harness and leash
This is Ringo at around 6 years- still as energetic as when he was a baby
Around 7, Ringo’s eye first started showing his cataract
At 8 years old, Ringo was able to come live with me at my apartment downtown- he thought it was very comfortable
Ringo’s tear ducts were blocked, so we had to clean his eyes up for him every day with warm, wet cotton balls
Although Ringo didn’t have any dental problems, he definitely started drooling a lot when eating his favorite veggies
With his old age, Ringo became much calmer and wanted constant snuggles- I brought him up to my bed for pets constantly
Ringo developed head tilt over the summer- it was very scary, but we were able to get him the proper medication leaving him with only a slight tilt you can see in this picture
I really can’t emphasize enough how much Ringo loved to be held and cuddled- this is how I spent most of my time with him in my arms, he was a total lap bunny
This is one of the last pictures I took of Ringo- he is looking awfully scruffy, but still the cutest bunny I’ve ever seen
Rabbits definitely age quickly once they become elderbuns. They become very scruffy and messy, but they also become very bonded and appreciative of their owners. Ringo made sure that I knew how much he loved me every day. Whenever he would smell me when I entered the room, he would hop around until he found my feet to greet me. He constantly cuddled up next to me and gave me plenty of bunny kisses every day. I hope these photos don’t just show the aging process of rabbits, but also the way their personalities shine as they grow older.
Ringo was always the perfect model and it was a pleasure photographing him throughout his life.
I love your Ringo gallery! You took so many great photos of him over the years:)

I was scrolling until I saw the picture of Ringo in his harness…that’s stupidly cute, haha. If I saw anyone walking a bunny around the city, I might lose it (and demand to touch it). Awesome photos!

How old was Ringo? It’s probably said somewhere here, but I’m a new reader, so I haven’t found that info yet 🙂 The gallery is really nice.
And I´m sorry for your loss. Ringo seemed to be a very special bunny.
